While browsing the Barnes and Noble online bookstore, I came across a series of books by a Messianic Jewish author that I hadn’t heard of before whose name is Tov Rose.
I ordered several of his books. This is the first one that I read and am reviewing. The others will come in due time.
I was wondering what insights that Rose would introduce to his readers in this small volume; it’s only 56 pages. This is not a book intended for scholars, but for the general public.
- He argues that John the Baptist was the last true High Priest.
- He explains what the Baptism of John was and what the steps were.
- He explains some statements that John and Jesus made with respect to the Aaronic and Melchisedek priesthoods.
- And more
I personally thought it was an illuminating effort that attempted to explore some of the more mysterious statements made by John the Baptist, Jesus the Christ, Paul and the author of Hebrews.
I do have one quibble with the book and that was the inclusion at the end of every chapter an invitation to go to his website and sign up to partner with Rose in his ministry. One or two times, perhaps in the forward and at the end, would be fine, but at the end of each chapter was a bit much.
Overall, I liked Tov Rose’s exploration of these topics in such a small book. The interested reader will enjoy his unique take and perhaps investigate further.
